Christmas in KrakowGeneral InterestOnline Classes with Instructor June Anderson and Sara Anderson June Anderson was one of the 27 Minnesota Daughters of the American Revolution, (DAR), who researched and wrote these biographies in response to a request by the National Medal of Honor Committee. In addition to writing, June saw to the publication of these biographies, providing the inspiration for a PBS documentary by Doug Ohman. June Anderson is both a world traveler and an author sharing her adventures in her numerous published books and through her online PowerPoint community ed classes. Twenty years ago, June Anderson and her husband celebrated the most wondrous Christmas of their lives in Krakow, Poland, joining their son and his family for the holiday. In this heartwarming presentation, June shares the magic of that storybook season—wandering the medieval Market Square alive with Christmas lights, Santa Claus, and even Ronald McDonald; taking a carriage ride to Wawel Castle to meet its fire-breathing dragon, Smok; and gliding in a one-horse open sleigh across the river and through the snow-covered hills of the Carpathian Mountains. This entry-level course is perfect for beginners—no prior knowledge is required, just a willingness to try something new. Participants will learn the basics of curling in a supportive, hands-on environment. Wear warm, flexible clothing (no jeans), and dress in layers.
