In this one-day workshop, learn how to turn a jelly roll and batting into a beautiful, functional rug! Create a small rug perfect for a bathroom, or keep connecting jelly rolls to make a large rug for your den. Once you master this technique, you can also create tote bags, purses, and much more. Important Prep: Please sew your jelly roll strips together at an angle end-to-end before class. (Contact the instructor if you have questions. ) Skill Level: Must know how to operate a sewing machine, change needles, and adjust tension. Supplies (available at Hooked on Quilts) Jelly Roll of Fabric (or 42 pre-cut 2.5" strips) Pattern 2 rolls of batting or 50 yards pre-cut 2.25" batting strips Clover Fabric Tube Maker Tool Wonder Clips Thread Zigzag Plate Knee Lift Walking Foot or Dual Feed Machine Straight Pins Slide-on Tray or Large Sew Steady Table Recommended: Use a heavy-duty needle (such as a denim needle 90/14) to handle the bulk of the strips.
