Have you heard of Miss America? Are you curious about how you can become involved or compete? The public perception of Miss America is often that it's a one-night event, but in reality, it's so much more. This class is open to girls and women ages 13-25 that want to know more. We will cover the basics of pageants, areas of competition and how to get started. Participants will gain confidence and preparation to enter local competitions and/or compete on bigger stages. While some pageant coaches charge over $100 per hour, but registration for this class is only $30 per session, or $50 for both sessions. Subject matter will be based on participants' needs. Class will be led by Angie Pagnac. Angie doesn't consider herself a coach, but rather a mentor. She has been a local director for over 10 years and has judged several other pageants. Teens should bring a parent or guardian to the classes.

What’s Included 30 hours of live online classroom instruction (Zoom)Students participate in live, instructor-led, Zoom classes that cover the Minnesota state-approved curriculum and prepare them for the permit exam. 6 hours of behind-the-wheel trainingStudents receive three, two-hour private driving lessons with licensed, professional Safeway instructors. Behind-the-wheel lessons are scheduled separately after the classroom portion is completed. Flexible schedulingOnline classes reduce travel time, and behind-the-wheel lessons are scheduled to accommodate busy family and student schedules. Make-up options are available. State certificationUpon successful completion, students receive all required documentation to apply for their Minnesota driver’s license. Important Timelines & Planning Tips Students have one year from the end of the classroom portion or from their 15th birthday (whichever is later) to complete their behind-the-wheel lessons. Safeway recommends allowing approximately 30 days between each driving lesson, with the final lesson completed about 30 days prior to a potential road test. We work to ensure that the majority of behind-the-wheel lessons are offered after school and in the evening to accommodate student and family schedules.
