Brain Enhancement Dancing for Seniors

Adult Enrichment / Dance -
Fall 2024

The Brain Enhancement Dancing (B.E.D.) program is a Ballroom Dance program created by professional dance instructor, Walter “Bear” Hartell specifically to decrease the risk of dementia by up to 76%. As reported in the New England Journal of Medicine, a 21-year study shows that ballroom dancing has the highest risk reduction for dementia and Alzheimer’s disease than any other activity. For those already experiencing the effects of dementia, researchers have seen an improvement in memory in seniors. Ballroom dancing is also being used to benefit those with Parkinson’s disease.

B.E.D. classes focus on rapid fire decision making, concentration, memory, multitasking movements, strengthening balance, and enhancing physical stamina, with all the additional benefits of dancing while enjoying a fun social activity.

Singles and Couples are encouraged to sign up.
