Seniors B.E.D. Class – Brain Enhancement Dancing

Adult Enrichment / Dance -
Winter/Spring 2026

Ballroom dancing for a sharper mind and stronger body. Created by professional dance instructor Walter “Bear” Hartell, the Brain Enhancement Dancing (B.E.D.) program is a specialized ballroom dance class designed to support cognitive health and physical vitality.

A 21-year study published in the New England Journal of Medicine found that ballroom dancing can reduce the risk of dementia by up to 76%—making it one of the most effective activities for cognitive protection.

B.E.D. supports:

  • Rapid decision-making and focus
  • Memory and multitasking through movement
  • Balance and coordination
  • Physical strength and stamina

For individuals experiencing early symptoms of dementia or Parkinson’s disease, ballroom dancing has shown promising benefits for memory and motor function.

Whether you attend solo or with a partner, everyone is welcome! Please wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing and shoes with non-slip soles.
