Seniors B.E.D. Class – Brain Enhancement Dancing

Adult Enrichment / Dance -
Fall 2025

Ballroom dancing for a sharper mind and stronger body. Created by professional dance instructor Walter “Bear” Hartell, the Brain Enhancement Dancing (B.E.D.) program is a specialized ballroom dance class designed to boost cognitive health and physical vitality. Backed by a 21-year study published in the New England Journal of Medicine, ballroom dancing has been shown to reduce the risk of dementia by up to 76%—making it one of the most effective activities for cognitive protection.

B.E.D. isn’t just about dancing—it’s about enhancing:

  • Rapid-fire decision-making and concentration
  • Memory and multitasking through movement
  • Balance and coordination
  • Physical stamina and endurance

For individuals already experiencing symptoms of dementia or Parkinson’s disease, ballroom dancing has shown promising improvements in memory and motor function.

Whether you're flying solo or dancing with a partner, everyone is welcome! Please wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing and shoes with non-slip soles. Join us for a joyful, brain-boosting experience that proves dancing is not just fun—it’s powerful.
