Ukrainian Egg Decorating

Adult Enrichment / Arts & Crafts -
Winter/Spring 2025

Join instructor Mary Morton to learn the art of creating beautiful Ukrainian eggs, also known as pysanky. Using the traditional wax-resist (batik) method, you’ll decorate intricate and colorful designs on eggs while exploring the history and symbolism behind this centuries-old craft.

This delightful tradition, often a family activity in spring, celebrates new life and renewal. Originally, the eggs were believed to bring good fortune and protection from evil, a belief that later blended with Christian customs. Whether you’re drawn to the artistry, the history, or the charm of this cultural practice, this class offers a unique opportunity to create your own stunning pysanky to treasure or share.

No prior experience is necessary—just bring your creativity and a love of learning!
